Inquerito epidemiologico (cross-sectional study) em Jaboatão dos Guararapes
In 2011, a cross-sectional study was conducted in the municipality of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, North-east Brazil, in the metropolitan region of Recife. The primary objectives were to estimate and to compare the prevalence of lower respiratory disease specially with wheezing disorders in children. The study site had poor sanitation, absence of paved street, large amount of garbage in the streets, stray animals (pork, cat, dog, goat and even horses), frequent flooding with open sewage and high level of street violence. The study population was living in degrading and inhuman conditions. Here is some methodological papers used in the survey and pictures with street scenes.
